Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

God is at work here at Heaven Skates. We are now set up to buy skateboard supplies directly from a wholesale warehouse. While trying to place our first order I was sickened at the amount evil symbols, images and wording that young skateboarders are exposed to through the skateboard industry. In some cases the evil was hidden, such as a company named Osiris who was the god of the dead in Ancient Egypt. Several companies sport upside-down crosses, and the list goes on and on. About 90% of all the things I looked at where unacceptable. Even those who claim to be “Christian” skate companies had questionable content. With the help of all of you I have been able to make great progress toward finally having some Biblical based skateboard products to sell at Heaven Skates for much less than any other store. Now we will be able to train these kids which way to go through skateboard decks. This is possible thanks to the help from some faithful givers just like you.

Our first skateboard deck will have the graphic in the left picture and will come with a short booklet giving a description of the meaning of Isaiah 40:31 (But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.)

In the picture on the right are Heaven Skates team riders from left to right Justin who is 10, Malcolm who is 12, and Dylan who is 12. In the background you can see some of our skateboard decks hanging on the office wall. These boys are very thankful for all you do to help.

We are seriously out of space at our current location. I had to turn kids away due to lack of room, so please keep praying that God provides us with a larger location and the funding to keep things going.

As I promised in the last news letter I have included a news article on the next page from December of 1998 when Heaven Skates was less than two years old. What memories it brings back and the ability to see how far we have come.
