 Heaven Skates Inc. is a ministry to skaters
of all types and ages. Heaven Skates began in March of 1997 after two
young boys were struck by cars while skating in the streets. Over the
years the ministry has grown to have four parts that I have listed below.
Part 1
Many churches have called to ask us how to
reach the skaters in their local town. We give advice over the phone and
offer to come to their town to do workshops, as well as help them build ramps of
any size to attract skaters to their church. We give them information on
how to create a waiver, where to get insurance and a lot of other useful
information.
Part 2
 Heaven Skates has a mini bus, a 7' X 16'
trailer, and a complete set of ramps called a street course. We travel to
churches that have invited us to bring our portable ramps to do a one or two day
skate event. For these events we arrive a day early, and do a workshop with all
volunteers. The ramps attract the skaters, and then about halfway through
the event we stop the skating for a Gospel presentation. We get skaters to
stay for the Gospel presentation by offering a prize giveaway after the
presentation. Our ramps all have Biblical themes that we use in our
message. Hundreds have accepted Christ at these events.
Part 3
 We use our bus to take our skate team to
skate parks across the country. After skating for awhile, our team will
tell everyone in the park that we will be giving away some cool prizes to those
who attend a short Bible study out by our bus. We ask local churches to be
our host and have counselors from that church available to counsel those who
make decisions. We have been to eleven states and over sixty skate parks, some
of which we have visited multiple times. You would be surprised at how
many parents and skate park owners have accepted Christ at these events.
Part 4
 We
have a 20,000 square-foot skate park that becomes a refuge to many young people.
For some this is the only safe place they have to go to keep them out of
trouble. At this park we give nightly Bible studies and all the ramps have
Biblical themes. This is where we build disciples and relationships. For
many this may be the only place they have any Christian role models.
Unfortunately for seven years we have depended on borrowed property. This
has proven to be undependable.

Prayer is always our number one request, so
please pray for Heaven Skates. Pray for the many lost skaters we will come
in contact with this year. Please pray that our budget is met.
